🌍 About EPD-Net: Shaping Sustainable & Disaster-Resilient Cities

EPD-Net is an innovative initiative focused on integrating Ecological Planning and Design (EPD) into disaster management to create sustainable, climate-resilient urban environments. The project develops an AI-powered smart training module and a transnational learning network to enhance knowledge sharing and capacity building in ecological planning.

Why EPD-Net?

🌱 Rising Disaster Risks: Climate change and rapid urbanization have increased the frequency and impact of natural disasters. Innovative planning and design solutions are essential to mitigate risks and build resilient communities.
💡 Bridging the Knowledge Gap: Despite the critical role of ecological planning in disaster management, there is a significant gap in education and professional training in this field. EPD-Net addresses this challenge by providing cutting-edge learning tools.
🤝 Collaboration for Innovation: The project brings together universities, research institutions, NGOs, professional organizations, and private sector partners to foster a culture of knowledge exchange and co-creation of sustainable solutions.

Key Objectives

✅ Develop an AI-Powered Smart Training Module: A flexible, scenario-based training system to enhance planning and design skills for disaster resilience.
✅ Establish a Learning Network: A collaborative platform connecting professionals, educators, and stakeholders to exchange best practices in ecological planning.
✅ Integrate Green & Digital Skills: Combining deep-tech solutions, geospatial analysis, and AI-driven planning to modernize disaster management strategies.
✅Support Policy & Decision-Making: Providing scientifically backed tools to enhance urban sustainability and disaster preparedness.

Our Story

EPD-Net

The world is facing unprecedented environmental challenges, with climate change, rapid urbanization, and increasing natural disasters threatening our cities and communities. Recognizing the urgent need for sustainable and resilient urban planning, EPD-Net was born.

Our journey began with a simple yet powerful vision: to bridge the gap between ecological planning, disaster management, and digital innovation. We saw that despite the critical role of landscape architecture, urban design, and spatial planning in disaster resilience, there was a lack of comprehensive education and collaboration in this field.

Bringing together universities, research institutions, NGOs, professional organizations, and industry leaders, EPD-Net is developing an AI-powered smart training module and a transnational learning network. Our goal is to equip planners, designers, and policymakers with green, digital, and resilience skills to shape the cities of tomorrow.

From research labs to real-world applications, from local communities to global networks, we are building a movement. EPD-Net is more than a project; it’s a step toward a future where cities are adaptive, sustainable, and disaster-resilient.

📢 Join us on this journey to create a greener, safer world!
